🍌 Old-Fashioned Banana Bread – Moist, Sweet, and Timelessly Delicious

Ingredients

• 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free 1:1 blend)
• ¾ cup granulated sugar
• 1 tsp baking soda
• ½ tsp salt
• ½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
• 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 ¼ cups)
• ⅓ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
  3. In another bowl, mix mashed bananas, oil, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour batter into the loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cool in the pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve sliced with butter or turn leftovers into French toast!

💡 Make ahead: Wrap and freeze slices for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temp or toast from frozen.
