Ingredients

• 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow or vanilla cake mix
• ½ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
• 2 large eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet, milk, or dark)
• Optional: ½ cup chopped nuts or M&Ms


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine cake mix, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until well blended (dough will be thick).
  3. Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts or candies if using).
  4. Press dough evenly into the pan.
  5. Bake 20–25 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let cool completely before slicing—this helps them hold their shape.
