Cinnamon Swirl Coffee Cake

Wake up to this irresistible cinnamon swirl coffee cake—soft, buttery, and perfect with your morning coffee! ☕️

 


Ingredients

– All-purpose flour — 2 cups 🥣

– Granulated sugar — 3/4 cup 🍚

– Unsalted butter — 1/2 cup (1 stick) 🧈

– Eggs — 2 large 🥚

– Sour cream — 1 cup 🥛

– Baking powder — 2 tsp 🧂

– Baking soda — 1/2 tsp 🧂

– Salt — 1/2 tsp 🧂

– Vanilla extract — 1 tsp 🌿

– Milk — 1/4 cup 🥛

– Brown sugar (swirl) — 3/4 cup 🟤

– Ground cinnamon (swirl) — 2 tbsp 🍂

– Melted butter (swirl) — 2 tbsp 🧈

– Powdered sugar (glaze, optional) — 1 cup 🍬

– Hot water (glaze) — 2-3 tbsp 💧


Instructions

 

1 Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch pan 🧯

2 Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl 🥣

3 Cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy 🧈

4 Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla 🌿

5 Alternate adding dry mix and sour cream (start and end with dry) and mix until just combined 🥛

6 In a small bowl combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter for the swirl 🟤🍂

7 Pour half the batter into the pan, spread swirl mixture over it, then top with remaining batter and swirl gently with a knife 🔪

8 Bake 35–40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean and top is golden ⏲️

9 Let cool 10 minutes, whisk powdered sugar with hot water for glaze if using, drizzle over cake and slice to serve 🍰
