Ingredients
• 4 cups (about 4 medium) peeled & finely chopped apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
• 2 cups (250g) self-rising flour
• 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
• Optional add-ins: 1 tsp cinnamon, ¼ tsp nutmeg, or ½ cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8″ or 9″ round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, combine apples, flour, and sugar (plus spices/nuts if using). Stir until just combined—the batter will be thick and shaggy.
- Spread evenly into prepared pan.
- Bake 40–45 min until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool 10 min before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature—delicious plain, with a dusting of powdered sugar, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
