Ingredients
• 2 cups all-purpose flour • 1 tbsp baking powder • 1 tsp cinnamon • ½ tsp salt • 6 tbsp cold butter, cubed • ¾ cup milk • 2 apples, peeled and diced • ¼ cup brown sugar • 2 tbsp butter, melted • 1 tsp cinnamon • ½ tsp nutmeg • 1 tbsp flour for apples • 2 tbsp coarse sugar for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F
- Line baking sheet with parchment paper
- Whisk together 2 cups flour, baking powder, 1 tsp cinnamon, and salt
- Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
- Add milk and stir until just combined
- Turn dough onto floured surface, knead gently
- Roll dough into 12-inch circle, ½ inch thick
- Mix diced apples with brown sugar, 1 tbsp flour, and spices
- Drop apple mixture by tablespoons onto dough
- Fold dough over filling to form triangles
- Place on baking sheet, brush with melted butter
- Sprinkle with coarse sugar
- Bake 15-18 minutes until golden brown
- Serve warm
