Banana Bread Brownies 🍌🍫

Ingredients

• ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted (or coconut oil)
• ¾ cup granulated sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 cup very ripe mashed bananas (about 2 medium)
• ½ cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free 1:1 blend)
• ½ cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
• ½ tsp baking soda
• ½ tsp cinnamon
• ¼ tsp salt
• ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
• ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla and mashed bananas until smooth.
  4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Fold gently until just combined.
  5. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips if using.
  6. Pour batter into the pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake 25–28 minutes, until edges are set and center is fudgy (a toothpick should have moist crumbs).
  8. Let cool completely before slicing for clean cuts—this helps them hold their shape.

Store in the fridge for extra-dense, brownie-like texture!
