Butter Pecan Praline Poke Cake: A Southern-Style Showstopper Dessert

Ingredients

• 1 box butter pecan cake mix • 1 cup butter pecan pudding mix • 4 eggs • ½ cup vegetable oil • ½ cup water

FOR PRALINE TOPPING: • ½ cup brown sugar • ¼ cup butter • 2 tbsp heavy cream • ½ cup chopped pecans • 1 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Grease 9×13 inch baking pan
  3. Mix cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, oil, and water
  4. Pour into prepared pan
  5. Bake 30-35 minutes until toothpick comes clean
  6. Poke holes all over hot cake with fork
  7. For topping: heat brown sugar, butter, and cream
  8. Boil 2 minutes, remove from heat
  9. Stir in pecans and vanilla
  10. Pour over hot cake
  11. Let cool completely
  12. Serve chilled or at room temperature
