Caramel Apple Cookies: The Perfect Fall-Inspired Treat

Ingredients

• 2 cups all-purpose flour • 1 tsp baking soda • 1 tsp cinnamon • ½ tsp salt • 1 cup butter, softened • 1 cup brown sugar • ½ cup granulated sugar • 2 eggs • 1 tsp vanilla extract • 1 cup diced apples (peeled) • ½ cup caramel bits or chopped caramels

FOR CARAMEL GLAZE: • ½ cup caramel sauce • 1 tbsp milk • ¼ cup chopped apples for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F
  2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper
  3. Whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt
  4. Cream butter and both sugars until fluffy
  5. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well
  6. Gradually add flour mixture to wet ingredients
  7. Fold in diced apples and caramel bits
  8. Drop rounded tablespoons onto baking sheets
  9. Bake 10-12 minutes until edges are golden
  10. Cool on baking sheets 5 minutes
  11. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely
  12. Mix caramel sauce and milk for glaze
  13. Drizzle over cooled cookies
  14. Sprinkle with chopped apples
