Chocolate Banana Brownies

  • Author: WAFA LI

Ingredients

• 1 cup (230g) very ripe mashed bananas (about 2–3 medium)
• ½ cup (1 stick / 115g) unsalted butter, melted
• ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• ¾ cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder
• ½ cup (65g) all-purpose flour (or almond flour for lower-carb)
• ¼ tsp baking soda
• ¼ tsp salt
• Optional: ½ cup chocolate chips or chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8″ pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mash bananas until smooth. Whisk in melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  3. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir until just blended—do not overmix. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
  4. Pour batter into pan; spread evenly (it will be thick).
  5. Bake 25–30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).
  6. Cool completely in pan before slicing—this ensures fudgy texture!
