Ingredients
• 12 slices thick-cut bacon
• 1 cup dark, milk, or semi-sweet chocolate chips (or dairy-free)
• 1 tsp coconut oil or shortening (for smooth dipping)
• Optional toppings:
• Flaky sea salt
• Crushed nuts (pecans, almonds)
• Sprinkles (red/green for holidays!)
• Crushed pretzel bits
Instructions
- Cook the bacon: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange bacon on a wire rack over a baking sheet. Bake 15–20 minutes until crispy. Drain on paper towels and let cool completely.
- Line a tray with parchment paper.
- Melt the chocolate: In a heatproof bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil. Melt in 20-second bursts in the microwave, stirring between each, until smooth. (Or use a double boiler.)
- Dip the bacon: Hold one end of a bacon strip and dip into the melted chocolate, coating about half or all of it. Let excess drip off.
- Place on the tray. Immediately sprinkle with sea salt, nuts, or other toppings before chocolate sets.
- Chill 15–20 minutes until firm.
