Ingredients
• 1 bag (10 oz) large marshmallows
• 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free blend)
• 2 tbsp sugar
• ½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
• ¼ tsp salt
• 1 tsp baking powder
• ¾ cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
• 1 egg
• Oil for deep frying (vegetable, canola, or peanut)
• Optional coatings:
• Powdered sugar
• Cinnamon sugar
• Crushed graham crackers
• Chocolate or caramel drizzle
Instructions
- Make the batter: In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, cinnamon (if using), salt, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, beat egg, then whisk in milk until smooth. Pour into dry ingredients and stir until just combined (batter should coat the back of a spoon).
- Thread marshmallows onto skewers or bamboo sticks (2–3 per stick—don’t overcrowd).
- Heat oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Dip each marshmallow skewer into the batter, letting excess drip off.
- Carefully lower into hot oil (fry 1–2 at a time). Fry 1–2 minutes, turning gently, until golden brown and puffed.
- Remove with tongs and drain on paper towels.
- While still warm, roll in powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, or crushed graham crackers.
- Drizzle with melted chocolate or caramel if desired.
✨ Serve immediately—they’re best when warm and oozing!
💡 Safety first: Use long skewers and keep hands clear of hot oil. Great for fairs, campfires (air fryer version below), or Halloween parties!
Air Fryer Option:
→ Lightly spray battered marshmallow sticks with oil. Air fry at 370°F (185°C) for 4–5 mins, flipping halfway.
