Description
A homemade cookie mix with rich cocoa, a hint of vanilla, and that classic red velvet charm — just add butter & egg!
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup powdered sugar
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp red food coloring (optional, for color intensity)
Instructions
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
If using, mix in red food coloring to give the dough a vibrant red color (or leave it out for a natural look).
Store the mix in an airtight container or ziplock bag until ready to use.
To Bake Cookies:
When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a bowl, combine 2 cups of the mix with ½ cup softened unsalted butter and 1 large egg.
Stir until a soft dough forms.
Roll into balls and place on a lined baking sheet.
Bake for 10–12 minutes. Let cool before frosting.
Optional Cream Cheese Frosting:
Mix 2 oz softened cream cheese, ¼ cup powdered sweetener, 1 tsp vanilla, and 1 tbsp heavy cream. Frost cooled cookies for that true red velvet experience!
