Easy Witch Hat Cookies: A Fun & Spooky Halloween Treat

Ingredients

• 2¾ cups all-purpose flour • 1 tsp baking soda • ½ tsp salt • 1 cup butter, softened • 1½ cups granulated sugar • 2 eggs • 2 tsp vanilla extract • Black and purple food coloring • Orange and green sprinkles • 1 cup powdered sugar • 2-3 tbsp milk • Black decorating gel


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper
  3. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt
  4. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy
  5. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well
  6. Gradually add flour mixture to wet ingredients
  7. Divide dough into thirds
  8. Color one third black, one third purple
  9. Keep one third plain for contrast
  10. Drop rounded tablespoons onto baking sheets
  11. Bake 10-12 minutes until edges are set
  12. Cool on baking sheets 5 minutes
  13. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely
  14. Mix powdered sugar and milk for glaze
  15. Divide glaze and color with food coloring
  16. Decorate cookies to look like witch hats
  17. Use black decorating gel for hat details
