For the bars:

- 1½ cups (300g) granulated sugar

For the cream cheese frosting:
- 4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup (½ stick / 55g) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups (240g) powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: sprinkles or colored sugar
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13″ baking pan; line with parchment for easy removal.
- Make batter: In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (~3 min). Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Add dry ingredients: Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into wet ingredients until just combined (don’t overmix).
- Bake: Spread batter evenly into pan. Bake 20–25 minutes, until edges are golden and center springs back when touched. Cool completely.
- Make frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt. Whip until fluffy.
- Frost & decorate: Spread over cooled bars. Add sprinkles if desired. Cut into squares.
