Fried Apple or Peach Pies: A Southern Treat with a Crispy, Sweet Twist

Ingredients

1 can (15 oz) apple or peach pie filling (or homemade)

1 package refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 tbsp water

Oil for frying

Optional: cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar for topping


Instructions

Roll out pie crusts and cut into 4–5 inch circles using a bowl or cutter.

Place a spoonful of fruit filling in the center of each circle.

Fold over and press edges with a fork to seal.

In a small bowl, whisk egg with water. Brush each pie lightly with egg wash.

Heat oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry pies in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.

Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar. Serve warm!
