INGREDIENTS : 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp green food coloring (adjust as needed)
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
8 oz cream cheese (softened)
1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
3 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Add the green food coloring and mix until vibrant.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
5. Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set. Cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
6. Beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until fluffy. Stir in vanilla extract.
7. Frost cooled cookies generously with cream cheese frosting and sprinkle with green or gold sprinkles.
