Halloween Sprinkle Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
• ½ cup granulated sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
• ½ tsp baking powder
• ¼ tsp salt
• ½–1 cup Halloween-themed sprinkles (worms, bats, ghosts, neon colors)


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
  2. Beat in egg and vanilla until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  4. Fold in Halloween sprinkles until evenly distributed.
  5. Cover and chill dough 30 minutes (helps prevent spreading).
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place on trays. Flatten slightly with your palm or the bottom of a glass.
  8. Bake 9–11 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let cool on the tray 5 minutes—they’ll firm up as they cool. Then transfer to a wire rack.

No decorating needed! The sprinkles bake right in for spooky color and crunch.
