  • Author: WAFA LI
  • Total Time: 45 min

Description

Moist cake infused with sweet peaches and a rich, buttery topping!

Ingredients

For the Cake:

1 box vanilla cake mix (plus ingredients listed on box)

1 can (15 oz) peaches in syrup, drained and chopped

½ tsp cinnamon

1 cup whipped cream or whipped topping

For the Topping:

½ cup butter, melted

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup heavy cream (or half & half)

½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Prepare the cake mix according to package directions, then pour into the prepared dish.

Gently fold chopped peaches and cinnamon into the batter.

Bake according to package instructions, typically 28-30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.

As the cake bakes, prepare the topping: In a saucepan, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens (3–5 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

Once the cake is done, allow it to cool for about 10 minutes.

Use a fork or skewer to poke holes all over the cake.

Pour the warm topping mixture over the cake, letting it soak into the holes.

Let cool completely, then top with whipped cream and serve chilled.
