Hocus Pocus Halloween Popcorn: A Spooky, Sweet & Salty Snack Inspired by the Classic Movie

Ingredients

• 8 cups popped popcorn (plain, unsalted) • ½ cup butter • ¼ cup light corn syrup • ½ cup brown sugar • ¼ tsp salt • ½ tsp vanilla extract • Orange and black food coloring • Candy corn • Chocolate chips • Halloween sprinkles • ¼ cup chopped peanuts


Instructions

  1. Pop corn and remove any unpopped kernels
  2. Place popcorn in large bowl
  3. In medium saucepan, combine butter, corn syrup, and brown sugar
  4. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly
  5. Bring to boil and cook 5 minutes without stirring
  6. Remove from heat and stir in salt and vanilla
  7. Pour syrup over popcorn and toss to coat
  8. Divide popcorn into portions
  9. Add orange and black food coloring to some portions
  10. Add candy corn, chocolate chips, and sprinkles
  11. Toss gently to distribute decorations
  12. Add chopped peanuts to some batches
  13. Spread on baking sheets to cool
  14. Store in airtight containers
