Ingredients
• 2 cups whole wheat flour • 2 cups all-purpose flour • 1 cup rolled oats • 1 cup wheat germ • 2 tsp baking soda • 1½ tsp salt • 2 cups buttermilk • ¼ cup honey • 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F
- Grease two 9×5 inch loaf pans
- Mix both flours, oats, wheat germ, baking soda, salt
- In separate bowl, whisk buttermilk, honey, melted butter
- Make well in center of dry ingredients
- Pour buttermilk mixture into well
- Stir until just combined (do not overmix)
- Divide batter between prepared pans
- Bake 40-45 minutes until toothpick comes clean
- Cool 10 minutes in pans
- Turn out onto wire racks
- Cool completely before slicing
