Ingredients
• ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
• ¾ cup granulated sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

• 2 tbsp milk (dairy or plant-based)
For the butter glaze:
• ¼ cup (½ stick) unsalted butter, melted
• 1 cup powdered sugar
• 1–2 tbsp milk or cream
• ½ tsp vanilla extract
• Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
- Beat in egg and vanilla until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place on trays (they spread slightly).
- Bake 9–11 minutes, until edges are golden but centers are soft.
- Let cool on the tray 5 minutes—they’ll firm up as they cool.
Make the glaze:
8. While cookies cool, whisk melted butter, powdered sugar, 1 tbsp milk, vanilla, and salt. Add more milk for a thinner drizzle.
9. Dip the top of each cookie into the glaze or drizzle generously.
10. Let set 5–10 minutes before serving.
