Ingredients
For the Dough:
2¼ tsp active dry yeast
½ cup warm milk (110°F)
¼ cup honey
1 egg
3½ cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for kneading)
½ tsp salt
¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
For the Filling:
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup powdered sugar
Zest of 1 lemon
2–3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
For the Glaze:
½ cup powdered sugar
1–2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Instructions
In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
Add honey, egg, flour, salt, and butter. Mix until a soft dough forms. Knead 5–6 minutes until smooth.
Cover and let rise 1 hour or until doubled in size.
While dough rises, mix filling ingredients until smooth.
Roll out dough into a 16×10-inch rectangle. Spread filling evenly over top.
Roll up tightly from the long side. Cut into 12 slices. Place in a greased baking dish.
Cover and let rise 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake 25–30 minutes until golden. Drizzle with glaze before serving.
