Soft, chewy, and loaded with sweet maraschino cherries and rich chocolate chips — these fun twist cookies are a colorful, crowd-pleasing treat!
Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup rolled oats (optional, for extra texture)
1 cup chocolate chips
1 jar maraschino cherries, drained and chopped (about 12–16 cherries)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until creamy and light.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients.
Stir in oats (if using), chocolate chips, and chopped maraschino cherries. Mix until combined.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheets.
Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Centers will still look soft but will set as they cool.
Let cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Enjoy warm or store in an airtight container.
