M&M Christmas Cookies – Colorful, Chewy, and Festive

Ingredients

• 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened (or vegan butter)
• ¾ cup granulated sugar
• ½ cup brown sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free 1:1 blend)
• 1 tsp baking powder
• ½ tsp salt
• 1–1.5 cups holiday M&Ms (red, green, white, or assorted)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat butter and both sugars until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in M&Ms (don’t overmix to prevent color bleed).
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place on trays (they spread slightly).
  7. Bake 9–11 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Let cool on the tray 5 minutes—they’ll firm up as they cool. Then transfer to a wire rack.
