  • 750 ml high-proof neutral grain spirit (190-proof Everclear) or 750 ml vodka (80–100 proof)
  • Zest of 3 large oranges (use a vegetable peeler—avoid white pith)
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1½ cups fresh orange juice (about 34 oranges)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: 1 cinnamon stick or 2 strips of orange peel for extra depth

Instructions

  1. Infuse citrus: In a large glass jar or bottle, combine high-proof spirit (or vodka) and orange zest. Seal tightly. Let steep at room temperature for 24–48 hours (longer = stronger orange flavor).
  2. Strain: Remove zest using a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth. Discard solids.
  3. Mix cream base: In a bowl, whisk sweetened condensed milk, fresh orange juice, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine: Slowly stir cream mixture into infused spirit. Mix gently but thoroughly.
  5. Age (optional): Let rest 3–7 days in a cool, dark place for flavors to meld (shake gently every day).
  6. Bottle & chill: Pour into clean glass bottles. Store in the refrigerator.
💡 Pro Tips:
Use fresh-squeezed orange juice—bottled can taste metallic.
– If using vodka, the result will be milder and sweeter; with Everclear, it’s stronger and more intense.
– Shake well before serving—natural separation may occur.
– Serve chilled in small glasses, over ice, or as a float in cream soda!
