Ingredients

🍰 • 1 box white cake mix • 1 cup strawberry puree • 4 eggs • ½ cup vegetable oil • 1 tsp vanilla extract

FOR STRAWBERRY FILLING: • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced • ¼ cup granulated sugar • 1 cup heavy cream • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

FOR FROSTING: • 2 cups heavy cream • ¼ cup powdered sugar • 1 tsp vanilla extract • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans
  3. Mix cake mix, strawberry puree, eggs, oil, and vanilla
  4. Divide batter between pans
  5. Bake 25-30 minutes until toothpick comes clean
  6. Cool 10 minutes in pans, then turn out
  7. Toss sliced strawberries with sugar, let sit 15 minutes
  8. Whip 1 cup cream with 2 tbsp powdered sugar for filling
  9. Whip 2 cups cream with ¼ cup powdered sugar and vanilla for frosting
  10. Split each cake layer horizontally
  11. Layer cake with strawberry mixture and whipped cream
  12. Frost entire cake with remaining whipped cream
  13. Garnish with fresh strawberry slices
  14. Refrigerate 2 hours before serving
