Ingredients
🍰 • 1 box white cake mix • 1 cup strawberry puree • 4 eggs • ½ cup vegetable oil • 1 tsp vanilla extract
FOR STRAWBERRY FILLING: • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced • ¼ cup granulated sugar • 1 cup heavy cream • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
FOR FROSTING: • 2 cups heavy cream • ¼ cup powdered sugar • 1 tsp vanilla extract • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans
- Mix cake mix, strawberry puree, eggs, oil, and vanilla
- Divide batter between pans
- Bake 25-30 minutes until toothpick comes clean
- Cool 10 minutes in pans, then turn out
- Toss sliced strawberries with sugar, let sit 15 minutes
- Whip 1 cup cream with 2 tbsp powdered sugar for filling
- Whip 2 cups cream with ¼ cup powdered sugar and vanilla for frosting
- Split each cake layer horizontally
- Layer cake with strawberry mixture and whipped cream
- Frost entire cake with remaining whipped cream
- Garnish with fresh strawberry slices
- Refrigerate 2 hours before serving
