Thick Chocolate Chip Cookies: Soft, Chewy, and Packed with Chocolate

Ingredients

• 2¼ cups all-purpose flour • 1 tsp baking soda • 1 tsp salt • 1 cup butter, softened • ¾ cup granulated sugar • ¾ cup brown sugar • 2 eggs • 2 tsp vanilla extract • 2 cups chocolate chips • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F
  2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper
  3. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt
  4. Cream butter and both sugars until fluffy
  5. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well
  6. Gradually add flour mixture to wet ingredients
  7. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts if using
  8. Drop rounded tablespoons onto baking sheets
  9. Bake 9-11 minutes until edges are golden
  10. Cool on baking sheets 5 minutes
  11. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely
