Ingredients
• 2¼ cups all-purpose flour • 1 tsp baking soda • 1 tsp salt • 1 cup butter, softened • ¾ cup granulated sugar • ¾ cup brown sugar • 2 eggs • 2 tsp vanilla extract • 2 cups chocolate chips • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt
- Cream butter and both sugars until fluffy
- Add eggs and vanilla, beat well
- Gradually add flour mixture to wet ingredients
- Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts if using
- Drop rounded tablespoons onto baking sheets
- Bake 9-11 minutes until edges are golden
- Cool on baking sheets 5 minutes
- Transfer to wire racks to cool completely
