Ingredients
• ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted & cooled slightly
• ½ cup granulated sugar
• ¾ cup packed brown sugar
• 1 large egg + 1 yolk
• 1½ tsp vanilla extract
• 1¼ cups all-purpose flour
• ½ tsp baking soda
• ¼ tsp salt
• ⅓ cup dark chocolate chips
• ⅓ cup milk chocolate chips
• ⅓ cup white chocolate chips
• Flaky sea salt for finishing (optional but recommended)
• Vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place a 10″ oven-safe skillet (cast iron preferred) in oven to preheat 5 mins.
- In a bowl, whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add egg, yolk, and vanilla; whisk until glossy (~2 mins).
- Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt just until combined. Fold in all three chocolates.
- Carefully remove hot skillet from oven. Add dough; press evenly into bottom (it’ll spread as it bakes).
- Bake 18–20 mins—edges golden and set, center still soft and slightly underdone (it firms as it cools).
- Immediately sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Let rest 5 mins.
- Serve warm straight from the skillet with scoops of vanilla ice cream.
