Ingredients
• 1 loaf French or Italian bread (or sourdough)
• 2 tbsp butter, softened
• 1 clove garlic, minced (optional, for garlicky kick)
• 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
• 6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
• 1 packet ranch seasoning (or 2 tbsp homemade)
• 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese (divided)
• 2 green onions, sliced (optional)
• Optional: ¼ cup mayonnaise or cream cheese (for creaminess)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the bread lengthwise down the center, then make diagonal cuts every 1 inch across both sides (don’t cut through the bottom crust).
- In a bowl, mix softened butter and garlic (if using). Spread over all cut surfaces of the bread.
- In another bowl, combine chicken, bacon, ranch seasoning, 1 cup cheese, green onions, and mayo/cream cheese (if using). Mix well.
- Stuff the mixture into the bread’s slits, pushing in gently to fill.
- Sprinkle remaining ½ cup cheese on top.
- Wrap the loaf in foil and bake 15 minutes.
- Unwrap and bake 10–15 more minutes until golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Let cool 2 minutes, then pull apart and serve warm!
