Ingredients
• 1 lb (450g) ground beef
• Salt & black pepper to taste
• ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
• ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
• ½ cup ricotta cheese
• ⅓ cup marinara sauce (plus extra for serving)
• 6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled (reserve a few pieces for topping)
• 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
• 1 tsp Italian seasoning
• 2 large burger buns or ciabatta rolls
• Optional: fresh basil leaves, sautéed mushrooms, or spinach
Instructions
- Preheat grill, skillet, or griddle to medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, salt, pepper, half the mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic (if using), and Italian seasoning. Divide into two portions and shape into patties.
- Grill or pan-fry patties 4–5 minutes per side, until cooked through. During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with remaining mozzarella and a spoonful of marinara. Cover to melt cheese.
- In a small bowl, mix ricotta with a pinch of salt, pepper, and 1 tbsp marinara.
- Toast burger buns lightly.
- Assemble:
→ Bottom bun
→ Ricotta mixture
→ Beef patty with melted cheese & sauce
→ Crispy bacon
→ Extra marinara
→ Fresh basil or veggies (if using)
→ Top bun - Serve immediately with extra marinara on the side for dipping!
