Ingredients
• 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)
• Salt & black pepper to taste
• 8–10 slices bacon, uncooked
• ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus extra for topping)
• Optional: 1 clove garlic, minced
• Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, or fried egg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a wire rack.
- In a bowl, season ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic (if using). Divide into two portions.
- Lay out 4–5 bacon slices side by side on the baking sheet, slightly overlapping to form a rectangle.
- Place one portion of beef on top and press into a thin, even patty that covers the bacon.
- Sprinkle generously with ¼ cup cheddar cheese.
- Carefully drape the remaining 4–5 bacon slices over the top, weaving if needed to fully encase the patty. Press edges gently to seal.
- Repeat for second burger.
- Bake 15 minutes. Flip carefully and bake 10–15 more minutes, until bacon is crispy and internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let rest 2 minutes. Serve open-faced on a plate with your favorite toppings!
