Ingredients
4 cups cooked chicken, shredded • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded • 1 cup heavy cream • ½ cup butter • ½ cup flour • 1 cup chicken broth • 2 tbsp lemon juice • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped • 1 tsp garlic powder • ½ tsp salt • ¼ tsp black pepper • ½ cup breadcrumbs • 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Steam broccoli florets until tender-crisp
- Arrange broccoli in bottom of 9×13 inch baking dish
- Top with shredded chicken
- Melt ½ cup butter in saucepan
- Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute
- Gradually add chicken broth, whisking constantly
- Add heavy cream and bring to simmer
- Cook until thickened, 3-5 minutes
- Remove from heat and stir in 1½ cups cheese
- Add lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper
- Pour sauce over chicken and broccoli
- Mix breadcrumbs with 2 tbsp melted butter
- Sprinkle remaining cheese and breadcrumb mixture on top
- Bake 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden
