- 4 whole wheat hot dog buns
- 1 cup low-sugar canned chili (or homemade)
- ½ cup shredded reduced-fat cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional, for toasting buns)
- Optional toppings: diced onions, pickles, or jalapeños
Instructions
- Cook hot dogs according to package instructions (grill, boil, or pan-sear).
- Lightly toast buns in a skillet with olive oil if desired.
- Warm chili in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Place each hot dog in a bun, top with warm chili, then sprinkle with cheese.
- Add optional toppings and serve immediately.
