Crockpot Chicken Teriyaki: An Easy, Flavor-Packed Weeknight Favorite

Ingredients

• 2 lbs chicken thighs or breasts • ½ cup soy sauce • ¼ cup honey • ¼ cup brown sugar • 2 tbsp rice vinegar • 3 cloves garlic, minced • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced • 2 tbsp cornstarch • 3 tbsp water • 2 green onions, sliced • 1 tbsp sesame oil • 1 tbsp sesame seeds


Instructions

  1. Place chicken in 4-quart slow cooker
  2. In bowl, whisk soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, and rice vinegar
  3. Add garlic and ginger to sauce
  4. Pour sauce over chicken
  5. Cook on low 6-8 hours or high 3-4 hours
  6. Remove chicken and shred with two forks
  7. Skim excess fat from sauce
  8. Mix cornstarch with water
  9. Stir cornstarch mixture into sauce
  10. Cook on high 15 minutes until thickened
  11. Return chicken to sauce, stir to coat
  12. Serve over rice
  13. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds
  14. Drizzle with sesame oil
