Crispy, golden pastries filled with seasoned meat, olives, and more — perfect for snacks or meals!
Ingredients
For the Filling: 1 lb ground beef (or chicken, or veggies)
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp paprika
Salt & pepper to taste
1/2 cup chopped green olives (optional)
1 hard-boiled egg, sliced (optional)
A few raisins or chopped herbs (optional – for sweet/savory twist)
For the Dough: 2 cups flour
1/2 cup butter, cold and cubed
1 egg (for dough)
1/4 cup cold water (approx)
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Make the filling: Cook beef, onion, garlic until browned. Add spices and simmer until thickened. Let cool. Mix in olives, egg slices, etc.
Make the dough: Cut butter into flour until crumbly. Add egg, salt, and water to form a firm dough. Chill 30 mins.
Roll out dough and cut into circles (about 4–5 inches). Add a spoonful of filling to each.
Fold dough over, moisten edges, and press to seal. Crimp edges.
Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 mins or fry until golden.
