Firecracker Chicken: A Sweet, Spicy, and Sticky Asian-Inspired Stir-Fry Sensation

Ingredients

• 1 lb (450g) boneless chicken breast, thinly sliced
• 2 tbsp olive oil (divided)
• 1/3 cup low-sugar ketchup
• 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
• 1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
• 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1 tsp ginger, grated
• 1 green onion, sliced (for garnish)
• Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)


Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add chicken and cook 5–6 minutes, until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add remaining 1 tbsp oil. Pour in ketchup, soy sauce, sriracha, honey, garlic, and ginger.
  4. Stir and simmer 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Return chicken to the pan. Toss to coat and cook 2 more minutes, letting flavors soak in.
  6. Serve hot over cauliflower rice, quinoa, or zoodles. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
