Ingredients
• 1 loaf Italian or French bread (or sourdough)
• ½ cup marinara sauce (plus extra for dipping)
• 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
• ½ cup cooked pepperoni slices
• 6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
• ½ cup cooked sausage crumbles (optional)
• ¼ cup sliced black olives
• 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
• 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
• 2 tbsp butter, softened
• 1 tsp dried oregano
• Optional: green peppers, mushrooms, or jalapeños
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the bread lengthwise down the center, then make diagonal cuts every 1 inch across both sides (don’t cut through the bottom crust).
- In a bowl, mix softened butter, garlic (if using), and oregano. Spread over all cut surfaces of the bread.
- Stuff the crevices with layers of:
→ Marinara sauce
→ Mozzarella cheese
→ Pepperoni, bacon, sausage, olives, and any veggies
→ Repeat until fully loaded! - Sprinkle top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Wrap in foil and bake 15 minutes.
- Unwrap and bake 10–15 more minutes until golden, bubbly, and heated through.
- Let cool 2 minutes, then pull apart and serve hot with extra marinara for dipping!
