Garlic Bread: The Ultimate Guide to Crispy, Buttery, Irresistible Perfection

  • Author: WAFA LI

Ingredients

• 1 (12-inch) French baguette or ciabatta loaf
• ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
• 4 garlic cloves, finely minced or pressed
• 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
• ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for kick)
• ¼ cup grated Parmesan (plus extra for topping)
• Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix softened butter, garlic, parsley, red pepper flakes (if using), Parmesan, and salt until smooth.
  3. Slice baguette in half lengthwise. Spread garlic butter evenly over cut sides—press into every nook!
  4. Place on a baking sheet, butter-side up. Sprinkle with extra Parmesan.
  5. Bake 10–12 min until edges are golden and crisp, center is warm and toasty.
Extra-crispy? Broil 1–2 min at the end—watch closely!
  6. Slice and serve immediately—ideal alongside pasta, soup, or solo with marinara for dipping.
