Description
Juicy, smoky, and sweet with island-style teriyaki flavor in every bite!
Ingredients
2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1 cup soy sauce
1 cup water
1 cup brown sugar
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp grated fresh ginger
½ tsp onion powder
1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
Optional: pineapple slices for grilling
Instructions
In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, water, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and onion powder. Bring to a simmer.
(Optional) Stir in cornstarch slurry to thicken. Let sauce cool completely.
Place chicken in a zip-top bag or bowl, pour marinade over, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Preheat grill to medium-high. Grill chicken 6–8 minutes per side until cooked through and slightly charred.
Grill pineapple slices if using, and serve with chicken. Enjoy warm!
