Jack-O’-Lantern Hand Pies πŸŽƒ – A Spooktacular Halloween Dessert!

Ingredients

β€’ 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed β€’ 1 cup pumpkin puree β€’ ΒΌ cup brown sugar β€’ 2 tbsp granulated sugar β€’ 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice β€’ Β½ tsp cinnamon β€’ 2 tbsp butter, melted β€’ 1 egg, beaten for egg wash β€’ Orange food coloring (optional) β€’ Black decorating gel or melted chocolate


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400Β°F
  2. Mix pumpkin puree, both sugars, spices, and melted butter
  3. Roll puff pastry sheets into 12-inch squares
  4. Cut each sheet into 4 smaller squares
  5. Place 2 tbsp pumpkin mixture on each square
  6. Fold dough over filling to make triangles
  7. Press edges with fork to seal
  8. Cut small slits in top for venting
  9. Brush with beaten egg
  10. Bake 15-20 minutes until golden brown
  11. Cool 10 minutes
  12. Use black decorating gel to draw jack-o-lantern faces
  13. Add orange food coloring to remaining egg wash if desired
  14. Brush faces with orange wash for color
