Crispy, golden, and totally low-carb — these keto air fryer onion rings are a crunchy, savory snack or side that satisfies your junk food cravings without the carbs!
Ingredients
1 large yellow onion (sweet or Vidalia works great)
½ cup almond flour
¼ cup coconut flour
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1 large egg (or egg wash: 1 egg + 1 tbsp water)
2 tbsp heavy cream or unsweetened almond milk (to thin the egg wash)
Optional: grated Parmesan cheese for extra crunch
Cooking spray or olive oil for misting
FOR DIPPING SAUCE (Optional):
¼ cup mayonnaise or sour cream
1 tbsp sugar-free ketchup or hot sauce
½ tsp smoked paprika or garlic powder
Instructions
Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) .
Slice onion into ½-inch thick rings and separate them into individual rounds.
In a bowl, mix almond flour , coconut flour , garlic powder , paprika , salt , and pepper for the breading.
In another bowl, whisk egg , heavy cream or almond milk until frothy.
Dip each onion ring into the egg wash, then coat thoroughly in the flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
Place coated onion rings in the air fryer basket in a single layer (don’t overcrowd).
Lightly mist with cooking spray or olive oil.
Air fry for 8–10 minutes , flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
Optional: Toss warm onion rings in grated Parmesan for extra flavor.
Serve with a keto-friendly dipping sauce like ranch or spicy mayo.
