Ingredients
For the Biscuits (Keto):
1 cup almond flour
¼ cup coconut flour
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp melted butter or coconut oil
2–4 tbsp water or unsweetened almond milk (as needed)
1 large egg
For the Sausage Gravy (Low Carb):
4 oz pork breakfast sausage or ground pork
2 tbsp butter or ghee
2 tbsp almond flour (to keep it keto)
1½ cups unsweetened almond milk or heavy cream
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: garlic powder or herbs for extra flavor
Instructions
Make the Biscuits:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add egg, melted butter, and gradually add water/milk as needed to form a soft dough.
Scoop small portions of dough onto the baking sheet and shape into rounds.
Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and firm to touch. Let cool slightly.
Make the Gravy:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and crumbly. Drain excess fat if needed.
Add butter and stir until melted and combined with the sausage fat.
Sprinkle in almond flour and whisk to create a roux. Cook for 1–2 minutes.
Gradually pour in almond milk or cream while whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
Simmer for 3–4 minutes until thickened. Season with salt, pepper, and optional garlic powder.
Assemble:
Split warm keto biscuits open and spoon sausage gravy generously inside.
Serve warm for a comforting, high-protein keto breakfast or dinner!
