Ingredients
Frozen chopped spinach: 1 box (10 oz.), cooked, cooled, and squeezed dry
Sour cream: 1 container (16 oz.)
Mayonnaise: 1 cup (Preferably Hellmann’s® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise)
Knorr Vegetable Recipe Mix: 1 package
Water chestnuts (optional): 1 can (8 oz.), drained and chopped
Green onions: 3, chopped
Instructions
Prepare the Spinach:
Cook the frozen chopped spinach as per the instructions on the package.
Once cooked, allow the spinach to cool. Then, thoroughly squeeze out all the excess water to ensure the dip isn’t watery.
Mix the Base:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the sour cream and mayonnaise. Stir until both ingredients are well integrated.
Add Flavor:
Stir in the entire package of Knorr Vegetable Recipe Mix. Mix well to distribute the flavors evenly throughout the base.
Incorporate Crunch:
If using, chop the water chestnuts into small pieces and add them to the bowl. This adds a delightful crunch to the dip.
Add the Spinach and Onions:
Fold in the squeezed, cooled spinach and chopped green onions into the mixture. Ensure the spinach is evenly distributed throughout the dip.
Chill:
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. This chilling time allows the flavors to meld together beautifully.
Serve:
Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. For an extra touch, consider serving it in a hollowed-out bread bowl or alongside a variety of dippers like vegetables, chips, or bread pieces.
