Stick of Butter Baked Rice: A Rich, Buttery Side Dish That’s Simple and Satisfying

Ingredients

• 1 cup long grain rice • 2 cups chicken broth • 1 stick (½ cup) butter • ¼ cup heavy cream • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped • 1 tsp garlic powder • ½ tsp onion powder • Salt and pepper to taste • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Grease 8×8 inch baking dish
  3. Rinse rice in fine mesh strainer
  4. In saucepan, bring chicken broth to boil
  5. Add rice, reduce heat, cover and simmer 18 minutes
  6. Remove from heat, let stand 5 minutes
  7. Fluff rice with fork
  8. Stir in butter until melted
  9. Add heavy cream and seasonings
  10. Transfer to prepared baking dish
  11. Cover with foil and bake 20 minutes
  12. Stir in fresh herbs and Parmesan
  13. Bake uncovered 10 minutes more
  14. Let stand 5 minutes before serving
