Ingredients

• 8 oz elbow macaroni • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded • 2 tbsp butter • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour • 1½ cups milk • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated • ¼ tsp garlic powder • ¼ tsp paprika • Salt and pepper to taste • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs for topping (optional)


Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions
  2. Drain and set aside
  3. Melt butter in large saucepan
  4. Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute
  5. Gradually add milk, whisking constantly
  6. Cook until thickened, 3-5 minutes
  7. Reduce heat to low
  8. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted
  9. Add Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika
  10. Season with salt and pepper
  11. Stir in cooked macaroni
  12. Transfer to serving dish
  13. Top with breadcrumbs if desired
  14. Serve immediately
