Ingredients

• 2 lbs frozen tater tots • 1 lb breakfast sausage • 3 tbsp butter • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour • 2 cups milk • 1 tsp garlic powder • ½ tsp black pepper • ¼ tsp salt • 2 green onions, sliced • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped • Hot sauce for serving (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F
  2. Spread tater tots on baking sheet
  3. Bake 20-25 minutes until crispy and golden
  4. Meanwhile, cook sausage in large skillet until browned
  5. Remove sausage with slotted spoon, drain excess fat
  6. Melt butter in same skillet
  7. Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute
  8. Gradually add milk, whisking constantly
  9. Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper
  10. Cook until thickened, 3-5 minutes
  11. Stir in cooked sausage
  12. Season with additional salt and pepper
  13. Serve tater tots in bowls
  14. Top with warm sausage gravy
  15. Garnish with green onions and parsley
  16. Add hot sauce if desired
