Ingredients
• 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 blend)
• 4 slices bacon, cooked until crisp and crumbled
• 1 cup ricotta cheese
• ½ cup shredded mozzarella (divided)
• ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
• ½ cup marinara sauce (plus extra for serving)
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1 tsp Italian seasoning
• Salt & pepper to taste
• 2 large egg yolks (for binding the patty)
• 2 soft hamburger buns (or ciabatta rolls)
• Optional: sautéed mushrooms or spinach
Instructions
- Make the lasagna filling: In a bowl, mix ricotta, ¼ cup mozzarella, Parmesan, ¼ cup marinara, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
- Form the burger patties: In another bowl, gently combine ground beef, egg yolks, half the crumbled bacon, salt, and pepper. Divide into 2 equal portions and shape into thick patties slightly larger than your buns.
- Cook the patties: Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties 4–5 minutes per side for medium. During the last minute, top each with ¼ cup mozzarella to melt.
- Assemble the burger “lasagna”:
→ Toast buns lightly.
→ Bottom bun → spoon of marinara → layer of ricotta mixture → cheesy beef patty → more ricotta mix → sprinkle of remaining bacon.
→ Drizzle with extra marinara or pesto.
→ Top with second bun. - Secure with a skewer if needed and serve immediately!
