Ingredients

• 12 slices thick-cut bacon (turkey bacon for lighter option)
• ¼ cup pure maple syrup
• 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional, for extra caramelization)
• ½ tsp smoked paprika
• ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
• Pinch of salt (if needed)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or a wire rack for crispier results.
  2. Lay bacon strips in a single layer on the pan (don’t overlap).
  3. Bake 12–15 minutes, until partially cooked and fat has rendered but not fully crispy.
  4. While bacon bakes, prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, mix maple syrup, brown sugar (if using), smoked paprika, and cayenne.
  5. Remove bacon from oven. Carefully brush both sides with maple glaze.
  6. Return to oven and bake 5–8 more minutes, until deeply glazed, bubbly, and crispy.
  7. Watch closely—sugar can burn quickly!
  8. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess grease.
  9. Let cool 1–2 minutes—the glaze will set as it cools.
