Christmas Mistletoe Margarita: The Festive, Sparkling Holiday Cocktail That’s Sweet, Tart, and Perfectly Seasonal

Ingredients

• 2 oz silver tequila
• 1 oz cranberry juice (unsweetened or 100%)
• 1 oz fresh lime juice
• ½ oz triple sec or orange liqueur
• ½ oz simple syrup (or agave, to taste)
• 4–5 fresh mint leaves
• Ice
• Optional: splash of soda water for fizz

For garnish:
• Lime wheel
• Fresh cranberries on a skewer
• Sprig of mint
• Red sugar or salt rim (mix red sanding sugar with a pinch of cinnamon)


Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass: Rim a chilled coupe or rocks glass with red sugar by rubbing a lime wedge around the edge and dipping into sugar. Set aside.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, muddle mint leaves gently to release aroma (don’t shred).
  3. Add tequila, cranberry juice, lime juice, triple sec, simple syrup, and a handful of ice.
  4. Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until well chilled.
  5. Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice (or serve straight up).
  6. Top with a splash of soda water if desired for bubbles.
  7. Garnish with a lime wheel, cranberry skewer, and mint sprig—hang it with mistletoe magic!

Non-alcoholic version (“Mistletoe Mocktail”):
→ Skip tequila & triple sec. Use 2 oz sparkling white grape juice + 1 oz cranberry + 1 oz lime.
