Ingredients
Sliced frozen bananas (about 4 medium bananas)
Optional Flavor Enhancements: 1 cup frozen or fresh berries, mangos, or peaches
1-2 tbsp peanut butter
1-2 tbsp cocoa powder
1-2 tbsp milk or juice
Honey or maple syrup to taste
Cinnamon or vanilla extract to taste
Instructions
Simply place sliced frozen bananas into a high-quality blender or food processor and slowly blend until smooth. You may need to scrape the sides down with a spatula as you go. If you allow the bananas to slightly thaw for about 10 minutes, you shouldn’t need any additional liquid. To speed up the process as well as flavor the banana, you can add 1-2 tbsps of liquid such as water, juice, or milk. Optionally flavor to your liking by adding other frozen or fresh fruits, peanut butter, cocoa powder, or any other favorite mix-ins. Once blended, your bananas should be the texture of a thick frosty that can be enjoyed right away. You could even top it with chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or granola for crunch. To make the mixture more like ice cream, place the banana frosty into a shallow dish and freeze for about an hour. To enjoy later, cover your dish, freeze, and then thaw on the counter for about 30 minutes before serving.
